We

thrive.

Judy Ottren Callahan

I am one of the founders of Northwest School for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children, and have been on the Board of Trustees since its beginning. Before founding our School, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, my Teaching Degree, and my Master’s Degree in Deaf Education, all from the University of Washington. I also taught deaf and hard-of-hearing children for 12 years in the public school system, in addition to lecturing at the University of Washington. As Directors of this outstanding school for its first 30 years, Karen Appelman and I have deeply enjoyed having a positive impact on the lives of many deaf and hard-of-hearing children and their families.
