Kabian Rendel – Head of School
I have worked at Northwest School for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children since 2004. During this time, I have had the privilege of working with intensely committed, loyal, and highly-qualified faculty and staff and have watched our campus, programs, and school grow!
In the field of Deaf Education, I have 14 years of classroom experience from the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind and NWSDHH. I bring 4 years of administrative experience through NWSDHH and the Center for Childhood Deafness and Hearing Loss (CDHL), where I am the Signing Exact English Specialist on the team. This work has allowed me to observe, evaluate, and coach Teachers of the Deaf, General Education Teachers, and S.E.E. sign transliterators/interpreters who serve Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students. I have been part of entire DHH Program Reviews for large districts in Washington in order to better support students with hearing loss throughout the entire state.
As a lifelong learner myself, excellence in education is a deeply held value of mine, and I am proud to be a part of the powerful good work at NWSDHH!
