Spanish Speaking Families

Our program supports Spanish-speaking families with deaf and hard-of-hearing children.

This unique program offers:

Virtual Signing Exact English (S.E.E.) Classes in English and Spanish

These classes use custom vocabulary useful to parents. These classes provide a discussion of concerns and issues related to raising a deaf/hard-of-hearing child (audiograms, cochlear implants, Deaf Culture, IEP process, etc.) and provide families the chance to network with other Spanish-speaking parents/guardians of deaf/hard-of-hearing children.

Spanish Interpretation & Communication

The Spanish Speaking Families Program facilitates communication between families and staff at Northwest School for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children. It also offers interpreter services at school events, and Spanish translation of written communication from school.
